Below you'll find a collection of vegan and gluten-free festive holiday season desserts from this blog. I’ve curated some of my personal seasonal favorites, featuring fluffy and velvety baked cakes, creamy and lush holiday- flavored raw cakes, as well as recipes for brittle, fudge, candied nuts, eggnog and other festive goodies.
The only thing you’ll find missing in this collection is cookies (a holiday must in my books!) — and for a good reason: I have a whole other post coming up that will be dedicated to scrumptious cookie recipes perfect for the occasion.
I hope you have great fun making these festive treats and enjoying them with loved ones.
Note: if you find this type of recipe browsing a wee bit tedious -- I know opening up a thousand browser pages isn't typically my idea of fun either... -- you can get these recipes in one beautifully collated (and ad-free!) PDF ebook below. Your purchase of the Christmas collection ebook will also help to support this blog, so it's a win-win all around ;)
Now let's get to the recipes, shall we? :)
1. Almond, Rosemary & Pine Cake
One of my all time favorite Christmas recipes is this almond rosemary & pine cake. It's a warm, sweet, nutty and fragrant baked cake with a wonderfully fluffy and springy texture. You’d really never know this is a vegan + gluten-free or even grain-free + oil-free + refined sugar-free cake at all!
2. Raw Holiday Fruitcake
A raw cake twist on a holiday classic. This wholesome raw vegan fruitcake is moist, sticky, and sweet, and full of flavor. Perhaps my most favorite thing about it is that it takes an already controversial dessert (since so many love to hate on classic fruitcake) and makes it even more controversial by making it a raw recipe... Makes the non-conformist in me smile wide ;)
3. Quick & Easy Mince Pies
A simple yet delicious mini gluten-free vegan mince pie recipe that can be assembled quickly when you’re short on time.
4. Chocolate Peppermint Candy Cane Balls
I feel like the season can’t go over without some sort of a candy cane treat being involved and these little chocolate peppermint balls are a pretty good way to that candy cane fix. I used organic vegan candy canes that are made with raw cane sugar here, so recommend looking for something like that ideally to keep things on the wholesome side. You can also skip the candy cane and go for peppermint mocha-like truffles here instead.
5. Vegan Eggnog
This dairy-free eggnog recipe is a wholesome vegan spin on the traditional drink. Ready in an instant and made without milk, eggs, refined sugar, and free from soy and coconut — the common commercial alternatives.
6. Fresh Cranberry Cake
Cranberries are a seasonal favorite and I absolutely love them in this gluten-free vegan fresh cranberry cake. The tartness of fresh cranberries provides a great balance to this sweet spiced spongy cake and makes it a great choice for a treat to enjoy with some tea or coffee, with company, or even for a quick breakfast treat or lunchbox snack.
7. Festive Vegan "Jello" Dessert
This is such a fun and easy vegan "jello" recipe to spruce up your holiday season with. Definitely an oldie from the recipe archive here, but I still love this light and pretty recipe so much.
8. Cranberry Rose Cheesecake
A creamy raw vegan cheesecake with a mix of tangy cranberries and fragrant rose water. Perfect for the holidays or when fresh cranberries are in season.
9. Hot Apple Cider
Hot apple cider makes a delicious cozy wintery treat, and is an easy holiday favorite to throw together. This version is spruced up with the addition of mulberries and warming spices.
10. Raspberry and White Chocolate Bark
I find this raw vegan white chocolate bark with raspberries beautiful, festive, and refreshing yet rich.
11. Cranberry Pie
This tart and sweet baked cranberry pie is a classic perfect for the winter holidays or autumnal season.
12. No-Bake Candied Pecan Cheesecake
A delicious no-bake cheesecake made with flavorful toasted, candied pecans. I always get rave reviews for this cake, from vegans and non-vegans alike -- the flavor of the filling here is just special!
13. Cranberry Orange Cheesecake
This raw vegan cheesecake is a flavorful and festive dessert, full of warm spices and a delicious and refreshing cranberry orange flavor.
14. Snickerdoodle Slice
Raw vegan cheesecake meets snickerdoodle cookie in a creamy, billowy layered dessert slice. So good! :)
15. Peanut Brittle
Crunchy, sweet peanut brittle made from coconut sugar instead of refined. Perfect for holiday snacking or gifting.
Bonus: you can find my other absolute favorite brittle recipe in my book Unconventional Treats.
16. Chocolate Rum Balls
These chocolate rum balls are a perfectly chewy, fudgey, and flavorful holiday favorite. If you want to keep this recipe alcohol-free simply omit the rum and just use rum essence. You can also skip this ingredient altogether and just use a bit more vanilla. They’ll taste delicious either way!
17. Baked Vegan Pumpkin Chesecake
This cozy, comforting baked pumpkin cheesecake makes the perfect autumn & winter treat!
18. No-Bake Pumpkin Cheesecake
This recipe is a big all-time reader favorite cake from the blog and is my ultimate favorite pumpkin dessert to date.
19. Maple Candied Pecans
Super easy maple candied pecans recipe perfect for gifting, or a (refined sugar-free) sweet quick-fix.
20. Cashew Carob Fudge
Simple, 5 ingredient fudge recipe made with carob. Chewy, melt-in-your-mouth cross between salted caramel and chocolate.
A few additional honourable mentions (not included in the ebook guide for this post):
