Wholesome Canada Day Desserts

In honor of Canada Day, just thought to recap some of the Canadian-ness that's been happening on the blog lately (and EVER) :) ...Starting with a few of my latest favorites -- classics remade wholesome (click on recipe name or photo to take you to the recipes):

Canadian Maple Pie

Probably my ultimate favorite Canadian treat is a good ol' classic maple pie -- custardy, mapley, sweet, and super simple to throw together.

Strawberry Rhubarb & Lime Pie

It wouldn't be a Canadian summer celebration without a traditional strawberry rhubarb dessert... Add some lime to the mix and you're in for a treat!

Butter Tarts

Of course you couldn't have a Canadian desserts selection without the obligatory butter tart!

Maple Butter Chocolates

Of course as the stereotype goes, Canada and maple anything are in a very symbiotic relationship... These maple butter chocolates are a quick and easy treat to whip up for any maple lover.

Blueberry Pie

I'll admit this one's crossing the whole "wholesome" line since the recipe uses a butter alternative... but what Canadian desserts list would exclude a blueberry pie?! And a rather delicious one at that. Plus it's still gf, refined sugar-free, and all, so I'm closing my eyes on that butter and throwing it in!

Raspberry Rhubarb Bundt Cake with Raspberry Frosting

Because raspberries and rhubarb are so in abundance here in summer...

Jello Dessert Recipe

Don't worry, it's gelatine-free ;) and refined sugar-free while we're at it...

Raspberry and White Chocolate Bark

Raw cashew & white chocolate bark, topped with red raspberries and white sliced almonds -- super simple, but so good!

Fresh Cranberry Cake

Last but not least, this red and white themed tea cake makes a beautiful comforting and easy-to-make large batch dessert for gatherings or simple lazy holiday breakfasts (because cake for breakfast is a must once in a while).
