An autumnal homemade spiced pear sauce recipe, spruced up with chia seeds, ginger and pineapple flavors. This recipe is vegan, gluten-free, refined sugar-free, oils, coconut and nut-free.
Place all ingredients, except chia seeds and pineapple juice, into a small sauce pan. Bring to a light boil on medium heat, stirring frequently.
Reduce heat and simmer for approximately 10-15 mins or until the pears begin to fall apart or mash easily, stirring occasionally. Turn off the heat and cool for 15-20 mins.
Blend pineapple juice and chia seeds in a high power blender. Add the cooled pear mixture to the blender and blend to combine.
Let the mixture sit for 20-30 mins to thicken slightly, or chill overnight if you prefer your sauce cold. Enjoy! Store leftovers refrigerated.
